Textile waste, generated in hundreds of thousands of tonnes every day, is an ever-growing global problem. Therefore the use of already existing materials should increase rapidly.
“Airbag No.9” is a collection consisting of clothes made out of car airbags. I got most of the inspiration from the material itself. The delicate glow inherent in the fabric, the industrial details, and the origin of the material gave me the ideas for this design.
The material of the airbag is hydrophobic, windproof and is therefore particularly suitable for outerwear.
In addition, the garment is made out of strong, durable material, the fiber is synthetic and thus can be reused and recycled repeatedly.
