OmaMood is the fashion show of the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, created to bring the values of traditional craftsmanship to audiences through a contemporary perspective. Through the show, we aim to support the creation and wearing of garments inspired by craft heritage, materials, and techniques, with a strong focus on sustainability and the principles of slow design.

Special emphasis is placed on local, authentic, and sustainable materials. The designers participating in OmaMood present collections that embody the values of sustainable design while maintaining a clear and recognisable connection to heritage-based inspiration.

The Viljandi Culture Academy is part of University of Tartu, one of the world’s leading universities. At the Culture Academy, knowledge and culture exist in dialogue — bringing together heritage and contemporary thinking, local identity and international perspectives, artistic creation and research, theory and practical solutions. As a driving force in the field of creative entrepreneurship, the academy provides students with both the skills and opportunities to begin developing creative projects already during their studies. Under the guidance of recognised creative professionals, students can study across five professional higher education programmes and three master’s programmes.

OMAMOOD 2026 CRETIVE CONCEPT

At OmaMood, heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary creativity come together. Like a spring finding its path through the earth, creativity quietly flows onward — from generation to generation, from person to person. It is a space where each designer follows their own path — in their own way — carrying something ancient yet entirely contemporary within their work.

On the runway, stories emerge through materials that hold memory: wool, linen, hand-crafted patterns, and techniques carried through time. Embroidered, knitted, crocheted, and sculpted details tell stories that do not disappear, but evolve. Some are visible and radiant, others hidden and intimate — like springs flowing beneath the ground. Yet all of them are connected by the same source: the need to create.

The musical atmosphere is created by Kuula hetke, whose soundscape supports the unfolding experience on stage and gently carries it forward, layer by layer.

OmaMood does not simply present clothing — it brings to the stage the rhythm of creation, where nature, people, and time intertwine into one whole. It is a quieter, deeper, and more timeless experience, where each collection searches for its place in time, with the hope of enduring beyond the moment.
