All events in the festival program are organised with a strict focus on sustainability. To achieve this, we have prepared thorough guidelines for all stakeholders, including the core team, volunteers, partners, designers, and models. Sustainable practices are integrated into every stage of the festival, spanning production, venue construction, set design, printed materials, catering, waste management, transport, merchandise, and communications.
In 2025, we applied for the international A Greener Future (AGF) environmental certificate – and successfully passed the assessment.

Receiving the certificate confirms that our activities meet high international standards and that the festival is consistently moving towards a smaller environmental footprint and more conscious management.
AGF also presents annual awards to the most outstanding certified festivals in each assessment category. EFF was nominated for the prestigious "Circular Event Award", which we went on to win alongside our certification.
AGF: “The Circular Event Award goes to the event that has demonstrated the greatest commitment to closing the loop on their resources flow. In other words, every item that comes into the event will be utilised in some way post-event rather than heading for disposal. Preventing waste, reusing, recycling and demonstrating full traceability of the movement of all materials both in and out of the event.
