The collection “The Stalking Granny” is inspired by Anna’s grandmother, who passed away in 2022 due to kidney cancer. Anna’s crocheted asymmetrical forms hint at the tumor clusters of her grandmother’s kidney cancer. The collection is hand-crocheted, conveying her grandmother’s love for handicrafts. The collection uses recycled cotton fabrics and yarns. In the construction of the pieces, blister packs made of metal and plastic have also been used, strongly pointing to the large amount of medication a person battling a serious illness has to consume. Anna remakes clothes that are no longer in use. She has the goal of being sustainable for the rest of her life. She has been interested in this her whole life. Her previous collections have also been made from sustainable materials. The products are designed for different age groups. The material she created herself is mostly changeable. Despite the reuse, the garments last a long time. Anna continues to recycle materials and even reworks older artworks. Anna Karakjan participated in the 2023 festival.
