The collection is titled “Lillelaps*ik”, translated into English as “Flower child*ish.” It is a light wordplay rooted in my personal experience. Sometimes the term “flower child” can be used in a very positive sense, yet I have also felt a certain bitterness in it. In the latter case, I’ve perceived it as being associated with a naive mindset, similar to being called a “snowflake.”
As a result, I decided to embrace this idea and reflect my own optimism through the collection. The concept is to tell a story about life and death through colors and flowers. The beauty of life lies in its impermanence—just as flowers come and go, so do we. For this reason, flowers are the central motif, representing joy and love, but also life, death, and growth. One side of the flowers is colorful, while the other is black. The choice of materials is also directly connected to this concept.
The pieces consist of leather flowers and buds, connected with metal rings and clasp hooks. The fastenings are ring carabiners, which also allow the pieces to be adjusted in size.
The collection was presented at the Mood-Performance-Tants fashion show in 2024.
