Jana is a stage designer interested in pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional (stereotypical) theatrical costume. She is fascinated by the parallels between fashion and theatre and seeks to explore and highlight these connections in her work. In her view, these parallels can intersect and overlap, forming a more interesting and richer whole. Her collection promotes conscious consumption and the reduction of overproduction. It is created using everyday objects that are an integral part of our lives, as well as reused garments and fabric leftovers from theatre storage. The core idea is that, through imagination, ordinary items can be transformed into something unexpected and intriguing, giving them a new purpose. The designer uses recycled clothing, fabrics, and other materials in precisely the necessary amounts. Jana Hanikova participated in the Estonian Fashion Festival at the Mood-Performance-Tants show in 2024 and 2025.
