Few ask about possible health or psychological issues.” Food-inspired elements act as a form of communication, visually expressing the experiences of overweight individuals. Julia’s collection powerfully demonstrates that every body—regardless of size—deserves to express itself through fashion. The entire collection is designed for plus-size people. The food elements are hand-painted, and for example, dill sprinkled on potatoes is crafted from finely cut green thread. Julia strives to use as many second-hand materials as possible in her collections. In the future, she plans to create entire collections based on recycled materials.
