Katre Arula and Liis Burk unite Estonian heritage culture, craft skills and contemporary clothing design in their collection. They draw inspiration from national silhouettes and textile traditions, reinterpreting them through a modern lens. The collection brings together linen and wool, with the shapes and details of the garments echoing the familiar lines of folk costume, while needle-felted accessories highlight one of the oldest textile techniques that once kept our ancestors warm. The designers' work is rooted in conscious and sustainable use of materials. The garments incorporate second-hand textiles, production offcuts and natural materials, including local sheep's wool dyed with natural pigments. Handcrafted pieces produced in small quantities emphasise a slow and considered creative process, and help keep alive both traditional techniques and local textile heritage. Katre Arula and Liis Burk will be participating in the OmaMood fashion show in 2026.
