Her collection "idewa" is inspired by the nature of the designer's home region and its understated yet captivating beauty — scrubland, gravel, and pine needles fallen on snow. The name of the collection comes from an old church record and refers to a time when clothing was scarce but carefully made, from good materials and built to last. In her work, the designer uses primarily natural materials such as wool and linen, and favours recycled textiles. The materials are sourced from, among others, small wool mills and secondhand textiles, and the finishing process involves collaboration with local artisans, bringing hand embroidery elements into the collection. Made-to-order production, waste reduction, and mix-and-match garments support a slower and more conscious approach to fashion, while also helping to keep local craft traditions alive.
Kristi Everst will participate in the OmaMood fashion show in 2026.
