Marite Rikkas’s hat collection HARIKIRI is inspired by the “Eesti müts” (Estonian hat). The “Eesti müts” is a children’s and women’s hat inspired by the kabimüts and traditional kirivöö patterns. These knitted hats were worn in Estonia before World War II.

After the war, they became an important symbol of identity among Estonians living abroad. In different places, the hats are known as “Eesti müts,” “tanumüts,” or “harimüts.” The HARIKIRI collection aims to bring these colourful hats back to the streets in a new and modern way.

Marite Rikkas is participating in the Mood-Performance-Tants 2025 show.
