Marleen Afanasjev is the founder of the brand STUDIO ALLTY, whose creative work is rooted in the values of reuse and the desire to extend the lifespan of clothing. Her collection “MARIKA” continues the story of “SALME”, a collection presented at the Mood-Performance-Dance show in 2025.

Dedicated to the designer’s mother, the collection explores the relationship between garment and wearer, focusing on care, repair, and preservation — practices that often remain invisible yet are essential to a garment’s longevity. The pieces are created from unsold and defective garments from the STUDIO ALLTY second-hand store, redesigned into new ready-to-wear clothing.

Through upcycling, used materials are given new form, and each piece becomes one of a kind. At the heart of the designer’s work is the appreciation and reinterpretation of existing garments, bringing reused materials back into the everyday wardrobe.
