Merili Silivask highlights the heritage of Estonian ethnographic quilt and rug embroidery in her coat collection "HØBU".Merili Silivask highlights the heritage of Estonian ethnographic quilt and rug embroidery in her coat collection "HØBU". The coats draw inspiration from horse motifs used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries — horse heads, horseshoes, and riding crops — which once decorated sleigh and carriage blankets. The designer reinterprets these motifs in a contemporary garment form, transferring the historical embroidery by hand onto coats and bringing a forgotten ornamental tradition into a modern context.
The collection is aimed primarily at children and young people, with the intention of bringing heritage-inspired clothing into the everyday wardrobe of the younger generation. The coats are made to last and designed to be passed down, connecting the historical embroidery tradition with contemporary clothing use.
Merili Silivask will participate in the OmaMood fashion show in 2026.
